When you are just beginning World of Warcraft, Warriors are a great class to play. Warriors are strong and easy to keep alive, unlike a Mage for example, and they are relatively simple to play well. But don’t think that they are uninteresting, there’s a lot more to Warriors than running around hitting things, and you can have a lot of enjoyment mastering the tactics in combat with these masters of combat.

Warriors are the real fighters in WoW. A well-played and developed Warrior can be almost unstoppable in combat. Warriors are skillful and intelligent experts on the ins and outs of warefare, not just simple hitting machines. They have a true figher’s spirit and can shout out a battle cry to rally the morale of everyone in the group. In the Arena, in PvP at the end game, Warriors are the masters and often make the centre-piece of a team.
Warriors can wear any armor, which makes them incredibly tough to hurt, and they have very high hit points. They can also use any weapon in the game, which is a great advantage. The primary weakness of a Warriors is their lack of healing abilities, which is not good for someone that gets hit so much, so you have to learn First Aid and carry lots of healing potions. Their primary weak point is probably their lack of healing ability, but First Aid and lots of healing potions make up for it. You also need to have a constant supply of gold to pay for armor and weapon repairs on account of fighting so much, so choosing a good profession is important.
The racial abilities of each race can help to boost your Warrior right from the start. Dwarves have the powerful stoneform ability, which defends against bleeding and poison. Orcs can resists stun and have Blood Fury. While the Trollish ability to regenerate is awesome for a Warrior, plus the Berserk ability. If you want to play a slightly different kind of Warrior go for night Elves who can Shadowmeld – becoming Rogues in plate armor!

Warriors use Rage to power up and do serious damage in combat – all their abilities are based on Rage. Rage can be boosted by potions or when they are actually fighting. Which is why Warriors are so dangerous in combat, even against multiple opponents – Their Rage builds up as they get hit – so if they get hit more, they just get angrier and more powerful!
One of the ways you can develop your Warrior as you progress is to focus on becoming the ultimate damage-dealer. An all out offensive machine that can destroy anything. Or the ultimate tank – a defensive, plate mail covered Warrior that can take any amount of damage and keep all your opponents tied up fighting while the others in your groups attack from afar.
