Nintendo Wii Quad Charging Dock & Rechargeable Battery Pack Set
User Ratings and Reviews
4 Stars Charger Station
Charger works great! Worth the money and so much better than continuously having to change out recharable batteries. I only wish the charger lights turned off once the wiimotes are charged. Instead the ligths turn from blue (charging) to green (charged)… so you constantly have lights on the station glowing while wiimotes are docked. But other than that, I highly recommend this dock.
5 Stars Great value for a Quad Charge System
I tried AA rechargeable batteries prior to a Quad charger like this one. However, unless you are keeping up with removing the batteries and putting them into the charger, it could be a show stopper.
This is comprised of 4 Nickel Metal Hydride batteries and 4 rubberized covers. The handstrap can still be attached while the unit is charging. There is an indicator light to notify you of the charging status and when the remote is charged.
Set up of the batteries is simple. Just remove your factory battery cover, place the battery into the unit and use the accompanying rubber covers. If you have the strap, just be sure that the charging light is on when the remote is placed into the docking station. Green indicates the remote is fully charged and blue indicates that the remote is charging. The base is stable and does not slide off of your entertainment center easily.
The rubberized grip is more comfortable than the plain OEM battery cover. Battery life is very good and is comparable to standard alkaline batteries. Charging from ‘empty’ requires about 8 hours (overnight). I typically keep the remotes in the docking station to ensure that they are always charged.
5 Stars Highly Recommended Investment
The Nyko Wii Charge Station Quad is simply a great product.
Pros:
1. No more wasting money on batteries.
2. Each battery pack replaces the original battery cover.
3. Each battery pack is color coded.
4. Each battery pack has a nice ribbed rubber grip.
5. The charging station displays a blue light when charging and a green light when fully charged.
6. Each charge last for roughly between two and three weeks with daily use.
7. With the charging station, you almost always have a spare controller ready for use.
Cons:
1. The wrist strap doesn’t fit well into the charging station, but the wrist strap really becomes unnecessary with the rubber grip unless players have very small hands.
2. Charging time can take up to 6 hours, but most charges are done in less than 3. This is a very acceptable time compared to most chargers.
4 Stars Works but with issues
This product does charge 4 controllers at one time. The issues I have seen are that it is a little difficult to get it charging with the strap installed and it does not work at all with a protective cover installed. This in itself is ok if you don’t need the cover but if you have a lot of kids using the controllers, the protective skins are almost necessary. Also have had an issue where it shows the blue light that it is charging and changes to green that it is totally charged and it was not charged at all. This has only happened once, but thought it needed to be mentioned. I have the 2 station charger and never had that issue with it.
5 Stars simply awsome!
After a year of buying batteries and trying to find new ones in our house or simply not playing the game! this is awsome we are a family of four and now we can play anytime we want to without having to change remotes,we think the quality is very good also.
